The Sweet Occasion

Editorial Policy

Here at The Sweet Occasion, my mission is to inspire home bakers to bake from scratch with easy yet impressive recipes for everyday occasions—all while saving you time in the kitchen.

Once in a while, I’ll share a recipe that takes a little extra time, but I always break it down with easy, step-by-step instructions. As a Johnson & Wales trained pastry chef and busy mom of three, I love creating desserts that look like you spent all day in the kitchen—but are actually simple to make.

As a source you can always count on for reliable, high-quality baking content, the following editorial policy outlines my guidelines that ensure transparency, trust, and a sense of community.

Originality and Creativity

All recipes on The Sweet Occasion are thoughtfully developed. Each one is either an original creation or a fresh take on a classic, always with my own unique twist. And because authenticity matters, every recipe is tested by me—I never publish AI-generated recipes.

Recipe Development

My goal is to create reliable recipes that become family favorites. Every recipe on The Sweet Occasion is carefully tested multiple times to make sure it’s not only delicious but also easy to follow.

The recipes that I share are a reflection of my baking experiences. I enjoy experimenting with classic flavors and developing my version to inspire you to bake easy, everyday recipes. There’s a unique connection that comes from sharing food with the people you love, and baking lends itself to creating memorable moments in the kitchen.

My hope is that these recipes give you the confidence to bake and experiment in your kitchen regardless of a busy schedule. And in the end, these recipes create connections and memorable, joyful moments.

Photography

You will find that all the photos on The Sweet Occasion are styled, shot, and edited by me. I love bringing these recipes to life in a way that inspires you along your baking journey. Please note that all images are my own and may not be reused or reposted without written permission.

Comment Policy

I love reading all your comments and do my best to respond to every one of them! It makes me happy to know you've made my recipes and shared them with friends and family.

Constructive feedback is also welcomed—if a recipe didn’t turn out as expected, I'd love to know your thoughts as long as they’re shared in a kind and helpful way for other readers.

As a positive and welcoming space, any comments that are rude, disrespectful, or unrelated will not be published. I like to maintain a friendly community where we can all share our love for baking!

Star Ratings

I’d love for you to leave a star rating! It’s a simple way to help give feedback to others trying to decide which recipe to bake. It's helpful and welcomed, not just for my blog but for any recipe site you visit.

If you feel a recipe deserves less than five stars, I'd love for you to share a comment explaining why. Your feedback helps me to continue to improve the recipes I create for you!
